Abita Music is the parent company of Jazzman Entertainment.


Abita Music Company is the music publishing company that represents the writers of REBIRTH BRASS BAND, among other select regional composers. 


The company director is Jerry Embree, professional musician, band leader, producer, and music business advisor. 


Abita Music Company was founded in 1992 for the production of a radio series on Louisiana music called “The Creole Gumbo Radio Show”.  These programs, and it’s subsequent series: “South to Louisiana; a Cajun and Zydeco Music Show”, aired on over 100 public radio stations nationwide between 1992 & 1996 .  Independently produced by Jerry Embree, and distributed on the National Public Radio satellite network, these works received a distinguished National Endowment for the Arts Award.  In 2006 & 2008, these works were recognized for their historical importance by receiving a Grammy Foundation Award, to insure a permanent archive of the master recordings.  The name of the company was derived from the locale in which the company founder lived and worked at the time - Abita Springs, Louisiana.

The Oprah Winfrey Show, HBO’s “Treme”, Universal Pictures, Discovery Channel, and many others.  


Through his production company Abita Music - Embree composes custom music for television commercials including New Orleans Zephyrs, Copeland’s Cheesecake Bistro, and Audubon Aquarium of the Americas.
